Christo van Wyk - Christo was admitted as an attorney in 1987. In 36 years he has

developed a significant client base of listed corporations and notable unlisted

companies which play significant roles in the South African economy.

A specialist in litigation, he built his practice to successfully manage and run an average

of five trials per month. Under his leadership he has a successful track record of

losing only four trials in 36 years, an exemplary achievement. This success he attributes

to his detailed attention to the macro picture and minutiae and his vast knowledge

of the respective litigation fields. All information is examined and weighted to

maximize positive results.

He was the trusted attorney for the RAMM partnership between Omnia, the AECI, Foskor and Sasol for the importation and processing of ammonia at Richards Bay. He is noted for his finely honed expertise in negotiating with government and the drafting of all legal documents forming the basis for the erection of the Ammonia Nitrate plant at Sasol. He was involved in the logistical issues relating to the transport of ammonia to the plant. The capital investment of the project was estimated at R2bn.

An amount of R145mn, stands as one of his larger negotiated settlements. This and other settlements have earned him a reputation as an expert negotiator driving for his client interests.

Christo’s legal services have extended throughout South Africa as well as the global economy and have earned the respect of colleagues for delivery beyond expectations. His legal acumen also extends to banking and finance, mining and energy, the environment and sustainability, including healthcare, construction, engineering, corporate restructuring, commercial and corporate law.

Christo is in demand as a lecturer and expert on the Consumer Protection Act, the National Credit Act, procedural and insurance law.

Kenneth Matabane - Kenneth is an admitted attorney with compliance, legal and commercial

board level experience. He is an executive with a strong multinational operational background

with extensive and diverse experience across a range of industries of various sizes.

Kenneth worked for the Centre for Applied Legal Studies at Wits as a researcher. He served as

candidate attorney with Singh Attorneys, Maphanga Attorney after breaking away from Blakes

Maphanga Attorneys and Mokobane Inc.

He was then headhunted to join ICAS Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd to establish a division called life

management services. Kenneth received intensive training at the United Kingdom (UK) branch

of ICAS, where he was then invited to the board of ICAS. He has been a Director of Corporate

and Legal Affairs for over 15 years and has been directly responsible for human resources,

employee relations, risk management, information security, transformation (BEE) and legal

advisory. 

Kenneth has served as a chairman of Usizo Investments Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a minority shareholder within ICAS southern africa and Sangano Investment Holdings as an executive director. He further served as a chairman of board of Nulatex SA(Pty)Ltd a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Kenneth currently sits on the board of Biofuel Business Incubator and Phakama Foundation, an NPO in the field of women and girl child support. In addition Kenneth has led a multitude of transactions (mergers and acquisitions and restructuring).

 

Kenneth has a B Proc (University of the North), BA Hons human resources management (University of Johannesburg), personal financial management (University of South Africa) and advanced diploma in labour law (RAU). Kenneth attained the status of a fellow member of the Institute of Directors, member of the Risk Management Institute,  EAPA, Black Management Forum, and Ethics Institute of South Africa
